Frank Gerald Peel was born at Woodstock in Oxfordshire on the 27th of March 1872.

He was educated at Lancing College where he was in Heads House, from January 1887 to July 1889.

He went to South Africa and enlisted as a Lieutenant in Loch's Horse on the 10th of February 1900.

He died from enteric fever at No. 12 General Hospital, Springfontein.
